Wantz Distributors was originally founded in 1933, by Hiram B. Wantz. The company was initially organized to sell, market and distribute malt beverage products in Washington County, Maryland.
The company was originally located on 88 West Lee Street in downtown Hagerstown. Our original products included several regional brews like Cumberland Brewery, C. Schimdt and Lowenbrau. The Anheuser-Busch brewery became a part of the our portfolio in 1934. Over time, the local brands were sold, and second generation Hiram B. Wantz Jr. dedicated all efforts to grow the Budweiser brands. To this day we remain committed to the sales and distribution of the AB-InBev brands, carrying over 75 different brands and selling over 350 different packages. Our product line now covers domestic, import, craft and specialty beers.
Wantz Distributors operates just outside Hagerstown at the intersection of interstates I-70 and I-81 in a state of the art warehouse. Wantz Distributors proudly distributes the full line of AB-Inbev products to Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett and Washington counties in Maryland.
The company remains a fourth generation family owned and operated company lead by President, Eric Riser. “We are committed to the people who purchase, sell, and consume our products.
